Field, nursery and project data in more than eight places
The company runs large-scale planting and restoration projects, with data spread across a core operational database, crop and nursery management, compliance and safety, field activity, mapping, project boards, SharePoint and live weather stations. Reporting relied on manual exports and disconnected spreadsheets, so getting one view of progress, cost and carbon took far too long.
One platform, three layers, every source on a schedule
We designed and deployed a centralised data platform on Microsoft Fabric that collects every source automatically and refines it through Bronze, Silver and Gold. A master orchestration runs the whole pipeline end to end, and a growing suite of reports sits on top.
18 automated collection tasks
More than eight systems, from the core operational database to weather stations, are collected on a schedule, replacing manual exports.
Three quality-controlled layers
About 102 raw Bronze tables are cleaned into 42 Silver tables and modelled into 38 Gold tables ready for reporting.
Alerts when a feed fails
A master orchestration runs the pipeline end to end and notifies the team automatically if any data feed fails.
Enterprise controls
Separate development and production environments, credentials in a central vault, and every change under version control so it can be reviewed and rolled back.
Daily reports, automatically
Daily reports on harvesting, nursery, planting and workforce attendance, alongside executive and operational dashboards.
Restoration and carbon reporting
Dedicated reporting on restoration progress, cost and carbon, plus land enrolment and commodity pricing.
Where the data lives and how it flows
The core operational database: projects, costs and forecasts, with about 45 tables landed
What changed
The company now has one trusted place for its operational, sustainability and finance data, and daily reports arrive without anyone exporting a spreadsheet.
Because the backbone is reusable, new sources and reports, including a second country, are added far faster than at the start, so each new item costs less than the last.
